Suspect Charged in Online Threat Incident

EAST LANSING, Mich. --- The Ingham County Prosecutor’s Office has charged an 18-year-old female MSU student, with one felony count charge of false report of terrorism and using a computer to commit a crime (750.543p). The charges relate to an incident that occurred on February 26, 2025.  

Judge Babcock set a bond at $20,000 and the suspect is scheduled to appear in 54-B District Court on March 20th at 9:00 a.m. for a preliminary hearing. 

We want to thank the community for its vigilance and support. We received numerous tips following the incident, demonstrating the strength of our community’s involvement in keeping everyone safe. Your awareness and prompt reporting are vital in addressing potential threats.
