Staff Services Bureau

The Staff Services Bureau is led by Deputy Chief Chris Rozman. The bureau includes Training, Human Resources, Fleet, Quartermaster,  Recruiting, Hiring & Retention and Strategic Communications. 

 

The Training Division plays a vital role in supporting the MSU Department of Police and Public Safety. Its responsibilities include recruiting, hiring, and providing comprehensive training for officers and professional staff, as well as tracking qualifications and ensuring compliance with mandated continuing education requirements. In addition, the division manages budgeting, procurement of supplies and tools, and coordinates travel. It also oversees the Fleet and Quartermaster operations, ensuring personnel have the vehicles, equipment, and resources necessary to perform their duties effectively.

The Strategic Communications Division manages all internal and external communications for the Michigan State University Department of Police and Public Safety. This team oversees media relations, responds to inquiries, and ensures timely, accurate information is shared with the campus community and the public. In addition, the division manages DPPS’s social media channels to provide real-time updates and engage with the community. Through proactive messaging and transparent communication, the division supports DPPS’s mission to foster safety, trust, and collaboration across MSU.
