MSU DPPS releases new active violence incident training video
March 25, 2024
----
Spartan community,
The MSU Department of Police and Public Safety stands committed to ensuring the safety and security of our campus. With this goal driving all we do, we are announcing that our active violence incident, or AVI, awareness training video is now complete and ready for viewing. This training video is intended to expand upon the training course hosted on MSU’s Ability Training platform.
Please note that this video contains sensitive content, and following the violence our community experienced, it may be difficult to watch. You can view it on MSU DPPS’s YouTube channel at a time that is best for you.
Students, faculty and staff are also strongly encouraged to take the full AVI Awareness training course on MSU’s Ability Training platform. Once logged in with your MSU NetID and password, click the Launch button to begin the course.
MSU DPPS also offers in-person training for students, faculty and staff. To make a request, please visit the Community Program Participation page. For more information on general campus safety, visit our Safety Tips page.
We will continue to build a safer campus and stronger community for every Spartan. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to MSU DPPS at 517-355-2221.
Sincerely,
Doug Monette (he/him)
Interim Vice President and Chief Safety Officer
